Sunset Cruise on the Chesapeake

Sunset is one of the best times to be on the water. There’s no better chance to take it all in and enjoy nature’s beauty as the sky transforms from blue to shades of orange and pink. Sunset cruises are ideal for celebrating a special occasion, proposals, or just for fun. Cruising on one of our luxury yachts is truly an experience that will last a lifetime.

Cruise Annapolis recently took the lucky winners of our Open House Raffle on a Sunset Cruise to Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse. These guests had the opportunity to sail on our Saona 47, “Dark Star” with our fleet service manager, Mickey Lalor, as our accommodating and friendly Captain. The Fountaine Pajot Saona 47 easily accommodated our 12 cruisers in her many expansive living areas. With three levels of usable space, our cruisers had ample area to relax, mingle, and take in the gorgeous bay views.

The wide side decks made moving around the yacht easy for our charter guests. As we set sail, we celebrated the occasion with a champagne toast and hors d’oeuvres to snack on. There was no shortage of photo opportunities to document the fun and amazing memories.

Our evening sunset cruise leisurely made it’s the way to Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse – an icon of the Chesapeake Bay. The lighthouse, a popular mooring point for boaters, was built in 1825 and is designated as a National Historic Landmark. Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse is just one of several landmarks you can visit on a charter trip in Annapolis.

After we stopped for a bit to take photos and do a final toast to the beautiful sunset, we cruised back to the docks. On the way back, the sky turned to night and our guests took in the views of the twinkling lights from Downtown Annapolis. We returned to our slip with new friends and beautiful memories.
